A pair of 2xAA batteries will have your EL cable illuminated for at least 3 nights and that's using low cost Wincell (made in Australia) batteries. The wire itself is waterproof so splahes of water will not harm it and the new barrell connection to your power pack will stand up to occassional moisture exposure although we recommend you take care to keep it dry to extend the life. The wire itself should last for around 2 years so you will get plenty of use out of it.
